Melissa (she/her) writes fantasy novels and short stories featuring strong female protagonists. She explores language and different ways of being strong, and is passionate about storytelling. Some of her early writing appeared in anthologies and The Word Count Podcast as M. J. King.
When not writing or parenting two small children in a pandemic, she is active in community theatre. Melissa lives in the woods of coastal Maine with her family and goes traveling whenever she can.
