Since you’re here, you’ve probably at least thought about writing a book or short story. And no matter if you’ve finished a manuscript or you’re just starting out, the amount of things you don’t know can feel overwhelming (at least, if you’re anything like me). I can help.
As a writing mentor, I work with you to discover your goals, needs, and wants, whether for a single story or your writing life as a whole. Then we work together to help make those happen. What I won’t do is tell you that you have to do x/change y/write this way. Writers and our stories don’t fit a single mold, and you are the expert on your own stories and writing process.
I can work with you for a single project as coach or editor, or more generally in establishing or maintaining a sustainable writing practice. And if you just need some help with a query letter, I can do that, too!
I do this because I hope to be the mentor I never found. After decades searching for writing mentors in classes and workshops, I got plenty of what-do-I-do-with-a-fantasy-writer reactions, but never found a mentor to help me figure out what areas of craft to focus on improving or next steps in reaching my publishing goals.
I am also committed to accessibility. This means offering phone/video calls or email check-ins, competitive pricing, and flexible payment options. This also means I love working with genres other than SFF. And your stories remain your own, always!
The first step is letting me know you’re interested. The second step is seeing if we work well together. This means a 15 to 30 minute meeting at no cost to you. I won’t sign you up for any mailing list or sell your information, and you decide if you want to go any further.
