I’m sitting here, staring at my to-read shelf (one of them, at any rate), and realizing that I got a great, huge bag of books at World Fantasy Con in Toronto. And that I can count on one hand the number of those I’ve read.
I’m talking about WFC 2012.
2012!
As I am now registered for both WFC 2014 and 2015 and anticipating similar ginormous bags of books at each, I had decided this is a problem I need to fix. If for no other reason than to make room for the rest. But also because there are some pretty amazing books and I must READ THEM ALL.
In some ways, it helps to not work at a bookstore any more. I have fewer easily accessible, cheap options.
Seeing how little I actually read last year is giving me issues. Can you tell?
My problem’s a bit on the opposite side of things. I have access 2 a library. So finding books 2 read aren’t the problem. So far I’m up 2 the grand total of five: :Erica Jongs Fear Of Flying” “Octavia Butler”s Kindred” “Tanarive Due’s, & Stephen Barnes Devil”s Wake, & Domino Falls” “Tanarive Due’s A Soul To Take”, & Octavia Butler:s {Arrghh…the name escapes me} Anyway… they”re all good reads, but I find myself lacking the motivation 2 actually check more out. So…I have issues as well, as u can tell 😉
Kindred — anything by Octavia Butler, really — is AMAZING. I think so, anyway. Hope you like it!
